The accident, involving two cars and a motorcycle along Tampines Avenue 12, killed a 24-year-old motorcyclist and his 24-year-old female pillion rider.

The accident happened on a key line linking Madrid to the southern city of Seville, which was also the scene of a collision in January that killed 46 people.

The court also found that Patterson's original jail sentence - which saw her eligible for release after 33 years - did not match the gravity of her crimes.

The Japanese suspects allegedly conspired to defraud a woman in her 20s in Yamaguchi Prefecture of ¥1 million earlier this year.
