Members of the British Royal Family have been associated with a wide range of restaurants, from local pubs and fast-food chains to exclusive dining rooms in some of London’s most expensive hotels. Prince William has spoken openly about his fondness for British pubs, while Prince Harry has been linked to Nando’s and American burger chain In-N-Out. Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has also been spotted at several luxury restaurants in London, California and New York. The late Princess Diana was a regular visitor to Italian restaurants in west London, while King Charles III, Queen Camilla and the late Queen Elizabeth II have been connected to several established fine-dining venues. Prince William Visits Local Pubs and Backs Their Preservation The Prince of Wales has repeatedly expressed his support for British pubs, describing them as important places for communities to gather. In June, William made an unannounced visit to The Prince of Peckham in south London, where he pulled a pint and spoke about the importance of protecting traditional pubs. “I love pubs. I want to do as much as I can to support pubs because I love the community. We need to protect our pubs,” he said. William described pubs as the “glue and fabric” of communities, adding that the people who work in them are central to their identity. The prince, who has been nicknamed “One Pint Willy” by Mike Tindall, also visited Windsor’s Two Brewers pub in October 2024, where he shared a drink with actor Eugene Levy during filming for The Reluctant Traveller. In 2023, William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, travelled by Tube to the Dog and Duck in Soho ahead of King Charles’s coronation. They met hospitality staff and tried pulling pints at the historic establishment. Pub manager Chris Watts praised William’s efforts, prompting the prince to joke that he had limited experience serving beer, although he was more familiar with drinking it. William has also visited the Walnut Tree Inn in Mere, Wiltshire, where he ordered the homemade Walnut Tree burger, fries and lemonade. Owner William Friend-James told the Daily Mail that the £18.95 burger, served with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, gherkin, onion marmalade, burger sauce, coleslaw and fries, was later renamed the “Prince William” Burger. The prince’s visits have attracted royal enthusiasts to some of the establishments, with certain seating areas becoming known among visitors as the “royal table” or “King’s corner”. Prince Harry’s Favourite Orders Include In-N-Out and Nando’s Prince Harry has been linked to several casual dining establishments, including In-N-Out Burger in the United States and Nando’s in the United Kingdom. In September 2023, Harry and Meghan were photographed buying food from In-N-Out near their former home in Montecito, California. Meghan discussed their fondness for the burger chain in a 2022 interview with Variety, explaining that they enjoyed visiting a drive-through and surprising employees who recognised them. “There’s one at the halfway point between LA and our neck of the woods. It’s really fun to go through the drive-thru and surprise them,” she said. “They know our order.” Harry is reported to favour the Double Double burger with fries and a Coke, while Meghan’s preferred order is said to be a cheeseburger, fries and jalapeños. Before moving to California, Harry was also frequently associated with Nando’s. He reportedly favoured the chain’s mild lemon-and-herb chicken and was spotted ordering a late-night takeaway at its Fulham branch in 2013. In his memoir, Spare, Harry revealed that he ate Nando’s chicken while Meghan was giving birth to their son, Prince Archie, in 2019. Other establishments associated with the duke include the Hollywood Arms, a neighbourhood pub in Chelsea, and Sticky Fingers, an American-style restaurant on Kensington High Street known for its barbecue ribs. Sticky Fingers was owned by former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman. Harry and Meghan have also been seen having lunch at The Falkland Arms in Great Tew, Oxfordshire, following their return to Britain. The pub is approximately two miles from Soho Farmhouse. Meghan Enjoys Fine Dining in London, California and New York Meghan has been seen at several upscale restaurants on both sides of the Atlantic, including celebrity-frequented establishments in California and exclusive venues in London. During her time in Montecito, she regularly visited Tre Lune, an Italian restaurant known for its expensive menu, extensive wine list and tableside cheese-wheel cacio e pepe. She had lunch there with tennis star Serena Williams in March 2024. Meghan also celebrated her 42nd birthday at the restaurant in August 2023 with Harry and their friend Matt Cohen. The Duchess has additionally visited Gracias Madre, a Mexican restaurant known for dishes including wet burritos, jackfruit tacos and plantain French toast. In New York, Meghan has dined at The Polo Bar, the Ralph Lauren restaurant on Fifth Avenue. She visited the venue during her baby-shower trip in 2019 and returned in August 2025. Before meeting Harry, Meghan wrote about her favourite New York restaurants in a 2014 post on her former lifestyle blog, The Tig. Her recommendations included Rubirosa, an Italian restaurant known for its pizza, and the restaurant operated by chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, which offers views of Central Park. More recently, Meghan has visited luxury dining establishments in London. On October 7, she attended afternoon tea at Claridge’s in Mayfair with Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai. The pair dined in the hotel’s Foyer and Reading Room, where afternoon tea costs £95 per person. Champagne is available for an additional £30, although the two women appeared to have tea and mineral water. The Duchess also enjoyed lunch at The Park, a Manhattan-inspired grand café near Kensington Palace. Princess Diana’s Favourite Italian Restaurants Included San Lorenzo and La Famiglia Princess Diana was known for her fondness for Italian cuisine and frequently visited restaurants in London, including San Lorenzo in Knightsbridge and La Famiglia in Chelsea. San Lorenzo, situated near Harrods and Harvey Nichols, served prominent customers for approximately six decades. Diana regularly took William and Harry there for lunch. The restaurant closed during the COVID-19 pandemic and did not reopen. The building remained vacant until 2024, when it was occupied by a group of 15 squatters. Diana also frequented La Famiglia, a Tuscan restaurant in Chelsea. She and William were photographed there on August 21, 1997, ten days before her death. The restaurant has recently faced a dispute over noise complaints from a neighbour concerning its garden. Although its licence permitted service until midnight, the establishment restricted service to 11pm and stopped performing “Happy Birthday” to customers outside. Celebrities, including Eric Clapton and Barbara Broccoli, have reportedly supported the restaurant during its ongoing legal dispute over the garden. Other venues associated with Diana included Launceston Place in Kensington, a Michelin-starred restaurant serving British and French cuisine; Da Maro, a pizza restaurant in South Kensington; and L’Escargot in Soho. She was also said to enjoy dining at the Hotel Café Royal on Regent Street, where she reportedly had lunches in the historic Oscar Wilde Room. King Charles and Queen Camilla Have Longstanding Links to The Ritz King Charles is known to favour The Ritz in London, a hotel recognised for its two-Michelin-star restaurant and its royal warrant for banqueting and catering services. The King has also been associated with Mount St. Restaurant in Mayfair, which is known for dishes including its signature lobster pie. Another establishment he visited was Brilliant Restaurant in Southall, west London. The family-run business, which serves Punjabi and Kenyan-influenced cuisine, closed in April 2025 after 50 years of operation. The Ritz also holds a place in the public history of Charles and Camilla. The couple made their first official public appearance together at the hotel on January 28, 1999, after attending a 50th birthday celebration for Camilla’s sister. Queen Elizabeth II Dined at Bellamy’s and Quaglino’s The late Queen Elizabeth II was associated with Bellamy’s, an upscale French brasserie located on a quiet mews in Mayfair. The restaurant hosted the monarch twice after opening in 2004. Her first visit took place in 2006, when Lady Penn, a close friend and former lady-in-waiting to the Queen Mother, arranged a private dinner for Elizabeth’s 80th birthday. Elizabeth returned in 2016 to dine with Princess Anne and her cousin, Princess Alexandra. In 2017, she was seen at the original Ivy restaurant in Covent Garden for a close friend’s birthday celebration. Other guests reportedly included comedian and television presenter David Walliams. One of the Queen’s most notable restaurant visits occurred in 1956, when she dined at Quaglino’s in central London with Prince Philip and the Queen Mother. The visit made her the first reigning British monarch to eat at a public restaurant. The establishment is known for its Art Deco interiors and entertainment, including jazz, blues and cabaret. Although reports suggested that Elizabeth may have ordered Eggs Royale during the visit, details of her meal were not confirmed. Quaglino’s subsequently welcomed other members of the Royal Family, including Princess Margaret, who reportedly had a permanently reserved private table known as the “Royal Enclosure”. Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie Frequent Exclusive London Restaurants Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have been seen at several upscale restaurants in London, particularly in Mayfair and Notting Hill. The sisters visited Mount St. Restaurant in Mayfair in December 2025. The venue is known for its British dishes and private dining rooms. They have also been associated with Isabel’s, a restaurant offering Latin American and Mediterranean cuisine. Last year, the princesses attended the launch of MR PORTER Steakhouse on Park Lane. The restaurant, which occupies a site formerly used by Trader Vic’s, describes its concept as combining an extravagant atmosphere with a more understated dining experience. Its menu includes premium steaks, lobster, chips and cocktails. In Notting Hill, Beatrice and Eugenie are also reported to enjoy Eel Sushi Bar and Dorian, a Michelin-starred bistro frequented by David and Victoria Beckham.
