The B.S. Abdur Rahman "India in a Classroom" Scholarship 2026-27, an initiative of B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, offers 200 undergraduate scholarship seats to SC, ST and Muslim students from across India, covering up to 100 per cent of tuition, hostel, food and examination fees based on income and academic performance.

The Central Government is contemplating the upgrade of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Imphal to the status of an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). This decision follows a meeting between Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh and Union Health Minister J P Nadda, where they discussed various initiatives to bolster the healthcare system in the state. Additionally, plans for a new medical college in Senapati district were also approved. This upgrade aims to enhance medical education and healthcare services in the region, reflecting a significant step forward for Manipur's medical infrastructure.
