This is a fully integrated programme between Law and Irish. You will study the Law of Northern Ireland and Ireland while also studying modern language and culture. The degree includes time spent in summer schools in the Gaeltacht which provides a unique opportunity for linguistic development. Proficiency in an additional language, significantly enhances your employability.
The Film Studies and Production degree at Queen’s offers a unique blend of filmmaking and critical thinking. Students will acquire advanced knowledge and skills in digital production, screenwriting, directing, cinematography, sound design and editing, as well as developing their understanding of film and screen cultures and industries. Classes take place in the cinemas of the Queen’s Film Theatre, and in our dedicated Film Studio, which features full broadcast-quality LED lighting and green screen. Students benefit from our cutting-edge digital production facilities including offline and online editing suites and high-definition cameras, and lighting and grip kits for location work. Across the programme practice-based learning is framed by the study of film and screen concepts, critical contexts, and current industrial practices. This approach encourages our students to become creative and critical practitioners with highly developed audio-visual literacy and communication skills that enhance the employability of our graduates within the media and creative industries sector.
This PG Diploma is an intensive programme providing you with a solid foundation in media-based storytelling by combining in-depth research methods with a practical, hands-on approach to learning. It will teach you how to record and edit in audio and video formats; how to research, produce, script, and edit your own material, whether it is short features or long-form documentary; and how to produce stories for radio, TV, and interactive online platforms. To do this, you’ll also learn effective interviewing techniques. This MA will teach you how to identify a good story and then how to research and pitch it for a successful commissioning outcome. Whether you want to be a broadcast journalist, a radio or podcast producer, a videographer, a documentary filmmaker, a media production/communications specialist, a post-production editor or immersive media practitioner, our practice-centred approach will strategically position you to work for any aspect of radio or podcasting; factual TV; documentary and informational production. On completing this MA, you will have numerous factual media outputs under your belt in radio/podcast, TV, documentary, interactive and experimental hybrid formats. This will be the basis of a robust work portfolio with which you can then enter the work market. The programme is designed to appeal to graduate students in the Humanities and Social Sciences, particularly those with backgrounds in English, politics, history, journalism, cultural studies, and creative writing. Previous academic study of or practical experience in areas of the media is beneficial but not essential. This would also interest those from other disciplines who want to retrain and have already had some relevant media industry experience.
Acquire the skills, knowledge and hands-on experience for a career as a Pharmaceutical Analyst in Industry or Academia, augmented by relevant international workplace experience in the industry.* WHO ARE YOU? You are probably a recent physical or life sciences graduate – chemistry, pharmacy and biology. But you could equally be in work and want to develop your professional skills. Analysts are among the most sought after professionals with some of the highest employability rates. Experience in a pharmaceutical company can help you decide if you enjoy working in industry or prefer research/academic career. Placements also improve employability prospects as a lot of placement students get offered a job immediately after they complete their degree. You will receive practical training on state-of-the-art separation techniques, such as HPLC/MS and GC/MS, in the purpose built Pharmaceutical Analysis lab designed in partnership with Agilent (a world-leading instrument manufacturer). International placements can be done in ANY country in the world, in an appropriate company (subject to visa requirements). The course is open to both local and International students. It is up to you to choose where to do your placement. PLEASE NOTE: Applications for this course received after 30th June 2026 may not be accepted.
