Media and Broadcast Production

This Media & Broadcast Production degree at Queen’s University Belfast is for those interested in careers in creative media, content production and broadcast programme making for television, radio, journalism, podcasts, online, social media and other new and emerging digital media platforms. Students will acquire advanced knowledge and skills in digital media production, research, writing, directing, shooting and editing, as well as developing their understanding of broader media culture. Students benefit from our cutting-edge digital production facilities including the Live Television Studio, Vision Mixing Suite, Sonic Lab, Radio Studio, Stage Box, Audiovisual Gallery, individual editing studios and classroom computer suite. Students also have access to a range of 4K cameras, sound and lighting kits on loan for location work. Across the programme, practice-based learning is framed by the study of media and broadcast concepts, critical contexts, and current industrial practices. This approach encourages our students to become creative and critical practitioners with highly developed audio-visual literacy. All of these skills enhance the employability of our graduates within the media and creative industries sector.
