2025 PN7 was hiding in plain sight for decades. The tiny asteroid has been traveling around the Sun in step with Earth since roughly the 1960s, according to orbital calculations. Astronomers only recognized its unusual connection in 2025 after Pan-STARRS 1 detected it. Older telescope images also captured the faint object. Now, researchers are tracing its path through years of archived observations and learning more about Earths quiet quasi-satellite.
