Five men have been arrested in the United Kingdom after three suspicious trucks were spotted near RAF Fairford, a U.S.-operated British air base that has been used by American bombers during the war against Iran. British counterterrorism police say the men are being held on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act, while a bomb disposal robot was deployed to examine the vehicles. Around 85 households were evacuated and a 400-meter cordon was established as authorities searched the area. U.S. President Donald Trump praised the operation, saying the suspects were allegedly looking to cause “big damage” to the base and that U.S.-British cooperation had helped stop them. The arrests come amid heightened tensions involving Iran and previous warnings over threats to British and U.S. interests. British authorities have not said that Iran was involved, and the investigation remains ongoing. The key question now: was this an isolated plot, or is there a wider connection?
